By the Grace of G-d
[Date]
Brooklyn, N.Y.To the learned, G-d-fearing and well-loved chassid
who engages in serving communal needs,Rabbi [ ... ],
Greetings and Blessings!
In response to your notification that a daughter has been born to yourself and your wife in an auspicious moment, and that she has been named Chayah Mushka (May she be blessed with a good and long life, Amen!) -
May it be G-d's will that together with your wife you raise her to Torah, to the wedding canopy, and to good deeds, out of prosperity.
As is known in the name of the Rebbe Rashab, in the prayer for a newborn daughter, too, it is our custom to say, "to Torah, to the wedding canopy, and to good deeds." The source for this is the teaching of our Sages (Tractate Berachos 17a): "By virtue of what are women meritorious? They cause their sons to study the Written Law in the synagogue, they cause their husbands to study the Oral Law in the Sages' House of Study, and they wait for their husbands to return from the Sages' House of Study."
With blessings of Mazel-Tov,
