Shortly before his
histalkus (passing), the Rebbe Rashab asked that he be moved into the study hall where he delivered his discourses. "I am going to heaven," he told his followers, "but I am leaving my writings with you" - the writings that would keep his spirit alive for his disciples.
When his son (the Rebbe Rayatz) heard these words, he began to weep. His father, weak with illness, turned to him and said, "Emotions? Emotions? No! Intellect. Intellect." The chassidim who were there related that in one miraculous moment, the Rebbe Rayatz changed completely.
